Kahrizak720x480
KAHRIZAK, 720×480
KAHRIZAK, 720×480 exists in two published versions, each shaped by a different editorial and political frame.
The text examines how death is recorded under conditions of internet shutdown, focusing on Kahrizak detention centre and the wider ecology of blackout, rumor, screenshots, and circulating numbers. It tracks how testimony is reduced to resolution, compression, and count. What survives is not truth as such, but artefacts: low-quality images, disputed figures, delayed confirmation, and arguments about credibility.
The two versions diverge in emphasis. The version published by Shadowbanned Magazine (issue 4) foregrounds mediation, platform logic, and the circulation of absence within hostile information environments. The version published by Ajam Media Collective situates the text more firmly within regional history, protest memory, and the politics of documentation in Iran.
