Ghosts in the Feedback Loop
Ghosts in the Feedback Loop
Format: Virtual group exhibition on New Art City
Organizer: Underground Art and Design (UAAD)
Status: Opens 8 September 2025. Permanent virtual exhibition
Visit: New Art City exhibition page
Ghosts in the Feedback Loop examines how machine learning renders, distorts, or erases certain bodies and ways of knowing. Framed as a three-part journey titled The Panopticon, The Crack in the Loop, and Open Playground, the exhibition invites visitors to move from control to rupture to renewal, reading the glitch as a site of agency. Presented by UAAD on New Art City, the exhibition is accessible worldwide and remains online permanently.
Curatorial frame
The exhibition positions the ghost as more than residue. It is a figure that slips through algorithmic blind spots, bends system logic, and rewires meaning, proposing new imaginaries beyond the training set. The spatial structure moves visitors from the discipline of The Panopticon to the rupture of The Crack in the Loop and toward the generative possibilities of Open Playground.
Program context
Ghosts in the Feedback Loop is part of UAAD’s fall 2025 series TechnoMirage, which explores creative AI and speculative futures through an in-person gathering at Index NYC, a global online panel co-hosted with Parsons School of Design, and a living publication.

THE SIGHT IS A WOUND
An experimental video‑poem that confronts what it means to look at atrocity. The film stages an act of aesthetic refusal in which the artist burns more than fifty of his own oil paintings, asking what a spectator owes an image and what an image owes its subject.
Specs and credits• Type: short digital video, single channel, 16:9, stereo, English with embedded subtitles• Year: 2025• Written and directed by: Parham Ghalamdar• Cinematography: Caustic Coastal (Dean Casper)• Selected screenings: Brazier International Film Festival 2025; Bristol Radical Film Festival 2025; MicroActs presents BREAK/MEND 2025; Sluice Film Festival 2025.
BURIAL WITHOUT BODY
A funeral allegory for a missing or unseeable center set across desert imaginaries, archival atmospheres, and radio noise. The film treats its speculative terrain with care, recalling it from memory, rendering it digitally, and allowing it to decay inside the frame.
