Synopsis
The film "The Appliance of Science" is part of a collection of 8 short films titled "One Minute Mistake," commissioned by Joan Gratz. In the making of this mutant silent movie, filmmaker Martin Cooper carefully considered how to incorporate animations into the live-action sequence. Drawing inspiration from the Surrealist movement, which emerged during the height of the silent film era, Cooper proposed a mix of iconic Surrealist images and conventional visual elements to Ghalamdar, resulting in a series of short animations.
